Acupressure Mat

Let’s talk about my newest obsession. My new acupressure mat. What is an acupressure mat you ask? It’s basically a mat and pillow with thousands of tiny acupressure points to relieve muscle tension, back pain, stress, headaches, etc. Basically everything that I deal with on an everyday basis. I find myself stressed out, A LOT. Little things that don’t stress normal people out, stress me out. Then again I’m not normal, at all. I’ve been researching new ways to deal with stress and that’s when I found about acupressure mats.

Acupressure mats are a natural way to relieve our bodies of some of the stress and pain that we endure everyday. They also won’t break the bank. I’m talking $30 or less for stress relief. I’ll take it. I ordered this Acupressure Mat and Pillow Set off of Amazon for $20. Of course I bought the pink one. It comes in other colors too, like black, blue, green, purple, and orange. The orange one is cheaper than the rest. Probably because no one really likes orange.

Our bodies have theses things called “Meridians.” Yeah, I’d never heard of them either. While we can’t actually see them, they’re VERY important. They influence how our bodies and organs function on the inside. Because they bring balance to the body, when they’re off balance is when you start to feel not so hot. Acupressure mats help stimulate blood circulation which helps with things like muscle recovery. The mats also release endorphins to reduce tension and help your mind and body to relax.

It’s recommended to use the mat 10-30 min each day (preferably in the morning). 10 minutes for beginners. I’m not going to lie, the little plastic spikes are kinda painful. You can definitely wear a thin shirt or place a sheet between you or the mat. But I usually just bear the pain. I seriously feel so relaxed afterwards. I’ve only been using it for a few days and already have a more positive outlook on things.

Let me know if any of you guys have tried acupressure mats, or plan to in the future. I’d love to hear about your experience!
