I am very passionate about skincare and learning what ingredients are in a product before I put it on my skin. I have pretty sensitive skin, so I like to use products that don’t have harsh ingredients and chemicals. I’ve done so much research and tested out a lot of products over the years, and am finally figuring out which products I love. This blog post has been highly requested, so I’m talking about my most-used beauty products. I use most of these products everyday in my skincare routine, unless it’s a mask that I typically use once or twice a week.
Lotus Youth Preserve Moisturizer – This moisturizer changed my life. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that being introduced to Fresh beauty products was one of the best things ever. Seriously LOVE them. I love that their products are paraben and sulfate free. If you’re unfamiliar with parabens and sulfates, here is the quick 411, because they’re in almost every single beauty product that you own. Parabens help prevent bacterial growth and extend the shelf-life of products, but these chemicals can also be detrimental to your health, like even messing with your hormones. As for sulfates, one of their main purposes is to create a lathering effect in products like shampoo. Sulfates have been known to dry out hair and cause skin irritation. This moisturizer is lightweight, improves elasticity and provides 24-hour hydration. I love applying it because it feels “cool” on my skin. I’ve been using it for several months now and have noticed an improvement in my skins texture and tone.
GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD – Out of every charcoal mask I’ve tested, this one is my favorite. I feel like a lot of charcoal masks don’t harden enough to actually clear my pores, but I can feel this mask working hard to remove blackheads and other unwanted things from my face. The activated charcoal helps lift away dirt as well. In the past, I’ve gotten rashes from certain face masks because of my sensitive skin, but with this one I’m in the clear.
Rose Deep Hydration Toner – This toner is another one of my must-haves. This product is also paraben and sulfate free. I use this toner after I wash my face to remove any extra residue. I’ve also noticed that my pores appear smaller. A lot of the toners I’ve tested out in the past made my skin feel super tight and dry, but this one is alcohol-free, hydrating and leaves my skin feeling refreshed.
Lip Sleeping Mask – One of my girlfriends introduced this overnight lip mask to me, and I am hooked. Ever since moving from the east coast to the west coast, my skin has been SUPERRR dry from a lack of humidity in the air. Sometimes my lips get sooo dry that NOTHING helps. It’s so miserable. This lip sleeping mask by Laneige is amazing. Sometimes I even use it during the day if I need an extra moisture boost. This is without a doubt one of my most-used beauty products. Seriously obsessed.
Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask – This product is genius. This mask is superrr hydrating. You wear it for 10-minutes and then wipe the excess off. It’s so convenient because you don’t even need to wash it off (which is honestly my least favorite part of face masks). I like to apply it during flights when my skin gets dry, or if I feel like my skin needs some extra moisture and quick rejuvenation. Sometimes I even wear it as a moisturizer, because it’s not super heavy and it’s sheer.
Boscia Purifying Cleansing Gel – I’ve been exploring new face cleansers, because my skin gets dry and irritated easily. The past few months I’ve been using Boscia’s purifying cleansing gel. This product is categorized as one of Sephora’s “clean” products because it’s formulated without harsh products, including being paraben and sulfate-free. I’ve been using it both morning and night and noticed my pores are smaller and a lot of my blackheads are gone. These are two problem areas I’ve been really trying to target.
