The Fifth Label Vagabond Denim Dress // Blue Polka Dot Fashion Scarf // Platform Mules // Gucci Aviator Sunglasses // Rebecca Minkoff Love Leather Crossbody Bag // Monogram Necklace
Let me just start out by saying that I’m falling in love with denim. I wasn’t always a fan, but now it’s huge. No matter how many times it goes out of style, it always comes back. The key is figuring out how to style denim, because it will make or break your look. This button down denim dress is part 3, and completes the Rodeo Drive Style Series on the blog. In case you are unfamiliar with the style series, I previously covered two other looks. You can read them here –
Part 1. Casual Chic
and
Part 2. Posh
Because Rodeo Drive is so luxurious and fashion driven, without much room for error, I wanted to create and photograph this series. Another reason may or may not be because it’s my favorite street in the world. I’m calling this look, “sophisticated,” (adj.) – having, revealing, or proceeding from a great deal of worldly experience and knowledge of fashion and culture (thanks, Google). Rodeo Drive, famous for it’s collection of world-renowned, luxury fashion brands is what I like to call, sophisticated.
My button down denim dress is originally from H&M. I’ve wanted one for so long now! I love that I don’t have to wear a top or tank top underneath. But apparently, H&M no longer wants to list it on their website, so I’m linking to a similar one here. Luckily, they still have my platform mules available online here. They come in two colors, pink and black! You guys, they are seriously so comfortable!!! Like I could probably run a marathon in them… but I won’t.
I’ve recently started adding fashion scarves to my wardrobe. Nothing screams sophistication like a fashion scarf. What is a fashion scarf? Just what it’s called. They basically serve no purpose except to add some extra “oomph” to your outfit. It’s like wearing a paper thin jacket in the winter because it’s cute. It doesn’t keep you warm, but at least you look cute, even if you do catch pneumonia. I purchased this light blue polka dot fashion scarf for literally $10. I probably wouldn’t pay more than that for one, because quite frankly I think they’re somewhere between ridiculous and stylish.
Last but not least are my Gucci aviator sunglasses. I don’t leave home without a pair of sunglasses. And I dare not judge anyone that wears sunglasses inside because we’re all just out here trying to live, right?
Let me know your thoughts on this outfit! What are everyone’s plans for the summer? I feel like it’s going by so fast. I’ve noticed a lot more kids out and about during the day, and I’m always like, shouldn’t you be in school? But then I remember that they’re on summer break, and I’m just an adult where technically summer doesn’t really exist. My only reminder is the HEAT WAVE that Los Angeles is having right now. #Sweaty.
