As the weather gets colder, quite naturally we desire warmth and comfort. The thought of getting cozy next to a fire with hot chocolate and a good book is nothing short of appealing. The holidays are my favorite time of the year. That being said, this is my first year not being at home with my family for the holiday season. When you become an adult, the desire to have some familiarity in your life is too real. I knew I needed to decorate, because it doesn’t feel like Christmas at all here on the west coast compared to the east coast.
My sweet little pup.
As soon as the seasons start to change, a caramel scented candle is a must for me, or any candle in general.
I absolutely adore this festive mug which can be purchased here for less than $15.
I love this Mermaid Sequin Reversible Pillow. I think it’s perfect for anyone that has a mix of gold and silver metals in their home.
My two favorite places to search for holiday decor are Target and Hobby Lobby. Everything is reasonably priced. This year I decided to go with a chic, silver look instead of the traditional red. I wanted to make sure I bought timeless pieces that I can continue using and adding onto each year. But most importantly, to have a festive home for the holidays and still have money for gifts.
Silver, sequins and greys were my main focus this year, because it reminds me of a winter wonderland. One of my favorite purchases is the plaid throw which can be purchased at Target. It’s currently on-sale for only $23! The “peace” pillow is from Target as well, and can be purchased here. I purchased the other pillows from Hobby Lobby. It’s such an amazing store for reasonably priced home decor, unfortunately their online inventory is lacking. The good news is that the sequin pillow is on their website and it’s 50% off right now! The pillow is actually reversible, aka you can flip the sequins to back and forth, to be gold or silver or a mix of both.
If you’re looking for a super cute reindeer pillow, you can find one here from Pier1. Or a white fur pillow here, from Pottery barn. Pillows are the easiest way to transform the look-and-feel of any room, any time of the year. I also love, love, love candles. During the holidays, ‘Tis the season and the classic Vanilla Bean Noel are my favorites. And don’t forget a cute holiday mug for drinking hot chocolate and watching christmas movies by the fire. Anthropologie has super cute ones here.
How do you decorate your room, home or apartment for the holidays? Feel free to share links in the comments section below 🙂
P.S My puppy is for sale, now accepting best offer. Totally kidding. And yes, that is an ornament that I found that looks like him, so quite naturally I had to buy it.
