Winter is right around the corner, and me being the weird human that I am, recognize winter as my favorite time of the year. There’s nothing I love more than hot chocolate with marshmallows, sitting by the fire on a snow days, and candles that smell like Christmas cookies. Even though cold weather means I have to swap out my wardrobe, that doesn’t mean I have to swap out style.
I’ve put together some of my favorite winter essentials. When this time of year comes around, I can’t wait to wear them. First thing’s first.. if owning a vest isn’t on your list of winter essentials, you need to re-think your priorities. My vest collection is pretty large, but my favorites are my black and hot pink colored ones. The pink is so much fun to wear with a striped shirt and cute skirt, and the black one goes with my entire wardrobe, because it’s literally… all…. black. J.Crew has really nice vests, but if you want a selection cheaper priced ones that are still of good quality, check out Old Navy.
Leggings are another one of my winter essentials. Remember the time when people used to say that “leggings aren’t pants?” The bad news is, they still aren’t, but the good news is that over the years they have become more socially acceptable. Honestly, finding a good pair of leggings is like having cookies and milk on Christmas Eve. The majority of my leggings are from Forever 21, lululemon and Victoria’s Secret. Bean boots from L.L.Bean are my go-to fall and winter shoes. They are very popular in the south; also rain, snow, or sunshine, I’m pretty sure these are one of the only shoes that are acceptable in all three weather situations. Definitely worth purchasing.
